These terms govern your use of SongSailor (the “Service”) and any personalised song you order through it. By placing an order you agree to these terms. SongSailor is operated from the United Kingdom and these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The service
SongSailor produces personalised songs based on the details you provide. Each order includes original lyrics, a fully-produced audio track, an MP3 download and a private gift page that you can share with the recipient.
Your responsibilities
- You confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
- You confirm that you have the right to share any personal details, names or stories you submit, and that the recipient would be comfortable receiving a gift based on them.
- You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes anyone else's rights.
- You agree the song is for personal, non-commercial use unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Pricing & payment
Prices are shown on the order page in pounds sterling and include any applicable UK VAT. Payment is taken at checkout via Stripe. We do not store your full payment details.
Delivery
A free 60-second preview is generated within minutes of submission. Once full payment is received, the completed song is typically delivered within minutes via email and to your private gift page. Occasionally delivery may take longer due to technical or capacity issues; if so, we will let you know.
Revisions
You can edit lyrics, request changes or request a full lyrics rewrite before you pay. After delivery we are happy to make reasonable tweaks if you're not fully happy — see our Refund Policy for details.
Intellectual property
On full payment, you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use the delivered song for personal, non-commercial purposes — including streaming, downloading, sharing privately with the recipient, and playing at private events such as birthdays, anniversaries or weddings. You may not resell, redistribute, or use the song for commercial gain (including paid streaming, advertising or broadcast) without our prior written consent.
We retain underlying rights to the music technology, prompts, templates and production techniques used to create the song. Lyrics, audio and any artwork generated specifically for your order are licensed to you as set out above.
AI-generated content
SongSailor uses AI music and language models to produce your song. Outputs may vary in quality and style. We make every effort to deliver a song you love, and offer changes if anything is off (see Refund Policy).
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one in effect when you placed it.
