Private Lessons for All Ages & Levels
Voice, Piano, Dance & Acting

Students in voice learn proper and healthy vocal technique through singing warm-ups and solo repertoire of the student's choice with the teacher's guidance in selection.  Learning music theory and sight-singing are an integral part of this.  Voice students should have a pencil, large 3 ring binder for keeping music selections in with blank paper for assignments and a cassette tape for recording accompaniments at every lesson.

Students in piano learn basic keyboard skills adding on music theory and technique through a piano lesson book series.  Solo repertoire is supplemented by the teacher.  Piano students should have a little assignment notebook, pencil and lesson books at lessons.  Piano students must have some form of piano or keyboard to practice at home.  An electric keyboard is fine for beginners.

Weekly Lesson Rates:  $20 per 30 minutes ~ $30 per 45 minutes ~ $40 per hour

Payment Policy & Cancellations/Holidays
Weekly private lessons must be paid at least two weeks at a time and one week in advance.  This helps to ensure student attendance.  It is preferred that lessons are paid by the month.  Cancellations by students will not receive refunds unless notice is given a day in advance.  In the case of sudden illness, an email or call by 10:00AM of the lesson day or earlier is acceptable to roll lesson payment to the next unpaid lesson.  Any teacher cancellation may have payment rolled to the next lesson.

There are no lessons when the North Adams Public School District or your own school district is closed for inclimate weather or has early release for the same reason.  Regular school holidays and no-school days may have lessons if planned in advance.  Lessons are offered all summer.

Teacher, Jill Wheat, is a certified public school music teacher in the states of Maine, New York and Massachusetts.  She holds a B.S. from Emerson College in Performing Arts and also has studied the Kodaly method of teaching music at New England Conservatory of Music.  With 9 years of public school general & vocal music teaching experience, directing drama clubs and volunteer choirs, Jill has been teaching private lessons for the past 14 years.
